I never really felt the need to ask. If a guy stops me from progressing, then we talk it out and I always respect his decision.

If giving consent is the “I do” of marriage, then the asking for consent is the “Will you marry me” of the proposal; because such a proposal seeks complete union–in body, spirit, and love.

I am saving sex for my future spouse.  It will be a mutual act of self-giving as a sign of our mutual love and fidelity to each other, and to no one else, until death splits us apart.

By asking for the spouse’s hand in marriage, waiting to get married, and then finally engaging in sexual relations on the honeymoon. The honeymoon, of course, takes place after the marriage. In other words, no pre-marital sex. No adultery. No fornication.
